10-12 pieces of inshell Californian almonds must be used daily. Inshell Californian almonds are considered a decent practical nut, for gifting purposes and are used by many communities for gifting in 1kg packs. For elderly and young people below nine years, it’s advisable to be served with Californian almonds kernels, so that it’s ready to eat without involving any effort in breakage.
- In shell Californian Almonds should be ideally stored in cool and dry conditions for a long life, recommended temperature being < 15°C.
It’s essential to take the almonds out from its plastic packing, shifted to tupperware or steel containers, and thereafter stored in a cool, dry place or refrigerated.
The stock must be rotated to optimize shelf life. After 15-20 days, it’s ideal to open the containers containing inshell Californian almonds, spread on a table and given some fresh air. This is highly recommended for prolonged shelf life.
They must be stored at a place which is protected from insects and pests. Avoid exposure to strong odors as almonds can absorb odors of others materials if exposed for prolonged periods.
